The California Quail, despite its appearance, is a relatively easy breed to keep. A strikingly beautiful breed do well in a large garden aviary, as they enjoy flying. They may be small in size but they are active, and like to perch well off the ground at night. A warm dry shelter is important.
Californian quail will usually get along with finches, softballs and small parrots. They can be fed quail feed and grit, along with chopped kale, dandelion and other greens. Plants within the aviary will encourage insects to enter the birds’ environment.
All our quail are kept in free flying, ethical pens.
