Faverolles are enthusiastic, curious hens who will often come to you hoping for treats. This chicken breed is just about perfect for any garden. Because of their gentleness Faverolles have become a popular breed of chicken to keep, especially for children or new keepers of chickens.
Salmon Faverolles originated in a small village in France called Faverolles. French farmers were looking for a hen that fleshed out well for market and also laid a good amount of eggs, making the standard size Faverolle a dual purpose bird.
They have 5 toes per foot rather than the usual 4. The most common colour is Salmon, which we breed. We also breed Ermine and Black both are quite rare.
Eggs: 180 creamy pink eggs a year.
Size: Bantam
